The Dubai Health Authority, DHA, today launched the first integrated electronic financial system.
The Smart Dubai Government Establishment revealed that the DHA is the first government entity in Dubai to adopt the smart system, which covers all external and internal financial transactions involving all suppliers dealing with DHA departments and sectors.
DHA has started automating its systems and services to dispose of paper transactions, following the announcement of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, who stated that the Emirate of Dubai will celebrate the end of the governmental paper-transaction era by issuing the last printed government document in 2021.
This is also part of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision to transform the government of Dubai into a smart government.
DHA announced the launch of the new paperless financial system during a meeting attended by Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of DHA, and Eid El Sabbagh, Manager of Financial Applications at Dubai Smart Government.
Through the adoption of the "Smart Resource Management System" and "Smart Expense System", the DHA finally eliminated all paper financial transactions of suppliers, as well as internal transactions of DHA sectors and departments as it has successfully completed 11,651 transactions electronically from November 2016 up to yesterday, as an experimental phase before the operational launch of the system.
Al Qutami highlighted that this system will help bring about qualitative transformation and optimal investment in the financial resources. It will increase efficiency and compatibility between the Department of Finance and the Financial Audit Department at DHA.
