Saudi contracting firm Abdullah A M Al Khodari Sons Company said on Saturday it has been awarded a SR120.7m ($32.1m) contract by the Ministry of Interior.It said in a statement posted on the Saudi Stock Exchange website that it has received a receipt of award letter from the Ministry for the construction of the second phase of Border Guard Airport in Umm Almelh in the kingdom\'s Empty Quarter.The letter specified that construction must be completed within 720 days from the date of contract signing.The first phase of this project is part of the company\'s current projects, it said.Last month, Britain\'s largest infrastructure contractor Balfour Beatty plans to join Abdullah A M Al Khodari Sons Co to bid for a railway project in the kingdom.Saudi Arabia, which is spending billions on boosting its infrastructure, plans to link its industrial city of Jubail and Dammam port to a network that connects to mining centers through Ras Azzour.Saudi Railway Co (SAR) said last month it had invited Saudi and global companies to pre-qualify for the Ras Azzour-Jubail link and the deadline for tendering is July 30.
