Daewoo Engineering & Construction, South Korea's fourth-largest builder, said Thursday that it has signed a US$1.23 billion deal to build a thermal power plant in Oman. Under the deal with the Oman Power & Water Procurement Company, Daewoo Engineering said it will build a power plant with a capacity up to 2,000 megawatts in Sur, some 200 kilometers southeast of its capital Muscat.
