The Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) recently announced the restructuring of its management board for the next two years. The restructured board will be headed by Mr. Ubaydli Ubaydli as Chairman. In addition, Dr. Osama Albaharna was appointed as Deputy Chairman, Mr. Tareq Fakhroo as Treasurer, Mr. Rashed Abdulla Al-Snan as Secretary and Mr. Sayed Mohamed Hussaini as Board Director.
The society held a general meeting whereby financial and ethical reports were reviewed and approved. The board also reviewed and assessed overall activities and events held by the society in the past two years and discussed future trends and plans in order to enhance performance and increase effectiveness.
Chairman of the board Mr. Ubaydli Ubaydli expressed his appreciation for the members of the board and the members of the Society for their trust and confidence in him as head of the board for the next two years. Mr. Ubaydli expressed his satisfaction in the performance of the society in the past period and highlighted some of the achievements that the society has managed to accomplish as part of the Society’s vision of Steering the ICT sector to a higher level by achieving a technologically matured society, which can drive and challenge companies to reach the highest performance and standards locally, regionally and internationally.
Mr. Ubaydli has also reaffirmed that the restructured board will continue to carry the society’s critical objectives and goals which include participating in the preparation of policies and regulations related to the field of technology in Bahrain, helping ICT companies develop their products and services, provide consultancy to ICT companies operating in Bahrain, strengthening relationships among ICT companies, training and educational institutions in addition to enhancing their performance. Objectives also include helping Bahraini technology companies cooperate with each other, building productive relationships with similar local, regional, and international organizations, and encouraging youth to join the ICT industry.
The Bahrain Technology Companies Society was established in 2012 as part of the country’s vision to improve its economic efficiency and the establishment of a strong foothold in the ICT sector regionally. The country’s interest in the ICT sector was reflected by fully supporting the establishment of BTECH, which aims to support local ICT companies to excel. Being a nonprofit entity, The Bahrain Technology Companies Society strives to fully elevating the sector and to bring ICT companies working in Bahrain to be able to compete with regional and international competitors.
