Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, headed the UAE’s delegation at the 2nd Meeting of the Emirati-Indonesian Economic Work Team in Jakarta.
Joko Widodo, President of Indonesia, received Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei and his accompanying delegation on the sidelines of their visit to Jakarta, and expressed his hopes that this visit would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations.
President Widodo said, "We know that the energy market is currently witnessing a type of transformation, and there is no doubt that renewable energy is considered one of the promising and important sectors in this field."
Al Mazrouei conveyed to President Widodo the regards of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and their wishes for greater development and advancement in Indonesia, and best wishes for its people.
During the meeting, he stressed the UAE’s desire to develop ties between the two countries and strengthen their scope for co-operation in all areas, to contribute to strengthening the ties of friendship and common interests of both countries.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed opportunities for co-operation in the fields of electricity, infrastructure and ports.
The meeting resulted in a second gathering between DP World and the Indonesian Ports Company, Pelindo 3. During this meeting, Al Mazrouei stressed the importance of the work of the Emirati-Indonesian Economic Work Team to strengthen bilateral economic relations in different investment and trading fields, while highlighting the importance of agreeing on practical recommendations and tangible outputs, to achieve the vision of the leaderships of the two countries.
Those at the meeting also discussed several bilateral economic and investment issues of mutual interest in the fields of traditional and renewable energy, mining, tourism, real estate development and aviation. They further reviewed the mechanisms for widening the horizons of regional co-operation, as well as strengthening the opportunities for trade and investment between the two countries.
The UAE delegation also included Mohamed Abdullah Mutlaq Al Ghafli, the UAE Ambassador to Indonesia and a number of officials.
