The first meeting for the Consular Consultations Committee between the UAE and Kazakhstan was held on Monday in the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Astana.
The meeting was chaired from the UAE side by Ahmed Saeed Elham Al Dhaheri, Assistant Under-Secretary for Consular Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, while the Kazakh side was chaired by Mukhtar Tleuberdi, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Both sides discussed mutual consular issues and the plans to monitor them, as well as the promotion of future joint consular co-operation between the UAE and Kazakhstan.
Al Dhaheri conveyed the greetings of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, to the hosting delegation and their wishes that this meeting will succeed.
He also praised the UAE-Kazakhstan relations while stressing the desire of the UAE to promote and develop these relations, to reflect the ambitions of both countries’ leaderships.
In his speech, Al Dhaheri highlighted that bilateral ties between both countries have witnessed paradigm shifts, which contributed to strengthening ties.
He highlighted the fact that such developments in their relations are positively reflected in the signing of many agreements and Memorandums of Understanding, MoUs, which aim to facilitate consular services for the citizens of both countries.
Mukhtar Tleuberdi praised the development of bilateral relations between both countries during the recent year, especially in the consular field.
He praised the UAE’s experience in the consular field while highlighting that his country seeks to develop co-operation and exchange experiences with the UAE.
Representatives from the various departments of the ministries of foreign affairs and international co-operation, interior and justice in the UAE participated in this meeting, as well as relevant authorities in Kazakhstan.
