Cairo - MENA
The Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) on Wednesday dismissed reports claiming that Cairo was planning to impose import ban on finished products with average value of $10 billion dollars.
There is no intention to ban imports of finished goods that are ready to be distributed, according to an IDSC statement.
The government is committed to free trade agreements and the World Trade Organization rules, the statement added.
Ministry of Trade and Industry said the decision to enlist the foreign factories exporting their products to Egypt is not meant to impose restrictions on imports, according to the statement.
The ministry urged media outlets to verify information before publishing, the statement said.
