Cairo - MENA
Minister of Supply and Internal Trading Mohamed Ali Meselhi said the wheat reserves were enough for five months, adding there were new agreements to import 900 thousand tons of wheat from different countries within a few weeks.
Meselhi stressed the importance of storing the wheat in modern silos not in roofless stores, to avoid any damage that would affect the wheat storage as a result of exposure to weather conditions.
The minister underscored that the state was committed to subsidy bread production despite the increase in its costs, stressing that there would be no rise in the prices of subsidized bread.
