Forty-eight ships transited the Suez Canal on Wednesday with a total cargo of about 2.7 million tons.

The south-bound convoy included 20 vessels carrying 1.1 tons, while the north-bound convoy included 28 ships carrying 1.6 million tons, according to a statement issued by the Suez Canal Authority.
