Forty ships transited the Suez Canal on Monday, with a total cargo of about 2.2 million tons.

The south-bound convoy included 22 vessels carrying 1.2 million tons, while the north-bound convoy included 18 ships carrying one million tons, according to a statement issued by the Suez Canal Authority.
