Protection of consumer rights and ensuring a safe and secure business environment come on top of UAE's economic priorities where specific legal provisions have been introduced and legal entities assigned to ensure consumer confidence, a UAE Ministry of Economy official has stated.
"Providing a consumer-friendly environment is a significant economic enabler which reflects positively on the overall business climate," said Humaid bin Butti Al Muhairi, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Corporate Sector and Consumer Protection at the Ministry of Economy, during his participation in the 8th meeting of the GCC Committee for the Under-Secretaries and Heads of Consumer Protection Departments, held today at the GCC General Secretariat HQ in Riyadh.
Al Muhairi is leading the UAE delegation to the meeting which reviews a number of key issues related to the executive regulations of the unified consumer protection system for the GCC countries.
The UAE has made keen efforts to ensure the consumer confidence and to create a fair relationship between consumers and businesses.
