Travel buses in Sudan

Owners of travel buses in Sudan have filed a complaint with authorities concerned in the country against a decision by the federation of chambers of transport to impose additional tariffs on vehicles ferrying citizens to Egypt and back.
Buses traveling on the land road joining the two countries will have to pay more than 500 pounds per trip.
Bus owners told Sudan's "Al Rai Al Aam" newspaper, out Monday, they were surprised by the decision.
They called for quick intervention to stop the collection of the additional tariff, which they described as illegal.
The bus owners urged the bodies concerned to fight such practices that add to operation prices that are eventually paid by passengers.
