Kuwaiti Ambassador to Lebanon Abdulaal Al-Qenae, on Saturday, expressed hope that the Kuwaiti aid would contribute to alleviate the suffering of displaced Syrians in Lebanon.
The Ambassador praised the significant role of official institutions and Kuwaiti charities in providing assistance to refugees in various areas of Lebanon since the outbreak of the crisis, in a statement ot kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
Al-Qenae's remarks were made after his meeting with Kuwait's Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaqoub Al-Sanea, who's leading an aid campaign entitled "the Humanitarian Leader", for the Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
Meanwhile, the official said that all efforts exerted by the State of Kuwait are directed by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Al-Qenae underlined the significance of the charity works of different Kuwaiti and Lebanese bodies and authorities and Lebanon to support the Syrian refugees.
The delegation, headed by Al-Sanea, includes Chairman of the Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO), UN Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Amiri Diwan Advisor Dr. Abdullah Al-Matouq, Zakat House Director General Ibrahim Al-Saleh, Deputy Secretary General at Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation Mohammed Al-Jalahma and Director of Media Department at Awqaf Ministry Ahmad Al-Qarawi.
According to recent statistics, the number of Syrian refugees in Lebanon exceeded one million. Kuwait is considered a major country that has offered aid to the Syrian refugees in Lebanon since the outbreak of the crisis.
