Winter aid programme in Tunisia

The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has concluded its winter aid programme in Tunisia. The programme targeted 37,000 families of those affected by the severe cold wave during January.
The programme was implemented in accordance with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
In a statement to Emirates News Agency, WAM, an official source at the Khalifa Foundation said that the foundation's team distributed aid to about 250,000 Tunisians living in 15 governorates. He pointed out that the team in charge of the 17-day programme was keen to deliver aid to all the needy families in collaboration with the UAE Embassy in Tunisia, and the Tunisian Union of Social Solidarity.
The source explained that the team distributed about 40,000 parcels including winter clothing, blankets, tents, mattresses, heaters, medicines and tools, pointing out that the aid was scheduled to be delivered to 12 governorates, but the team has included three other governorates as it found other unprivileged families who deserved assistance.
