The Japanese government will provide $29 million this year to international organizations and non-governmental organizations operating in the Kingdom in order to offer humanitarian services to Syrian refugees, according to a statement by the Japanese Embassy in Amman.

The statement said that the aid will also be used to help communities hosting refugees and prevent terrorism and extremism, noting that the total Japanese aid to organizations operating in the Kingdom stood at $59 million last year.
