The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has donated over AED 7.3 million to support the Zayed Charity Marathon in Cairo.
The gesture is in implementation of the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC).
This year's edition is being held in Cairo, the capital city of Egypt, and the proceeds will go towards the Children's Cancer Hospital 57357 in Egypt.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Emirates Red Crescent, Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, said that the directives of Sheikh Hamdan to back this charitable event comes as part of his multiple initiatives in the charitable and humanitarian fields and other factors that enhance the leading role of the country in this regard.
Dr. Mohamed Ateeq Al-Falahi, Secretary General of the Emirates Red Crescent, said that the directives of Sheikh Hamdan come in line with the objectives of the marathon which carries the name of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
