Cairo - MENA
Egypt has imported 2.9 million tons of wheat over the past six months with a drop of 2.6 percent compared with the same period last year, according to the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC).
France topped the countries that export wheat to Egypt with about one million tons, followed by Romania and Russia with 780, 000 and 765,000 tons consecutively.
Egypt, the world's biggest buyer of wheat, said it would not be affected by the current halt of Russian grain exports.
