North Sinai Governorate began on Sunday to pay EGP 1,500 in compensation to each family affected by phase two of the buffer zone on the Rafah-Gaza border.
The sum would be divided into three months, EGP 500 for each.
The affected families would use EGP 500 in renting alternative housing units before starting the second phase of the evacuation process.
