The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Drydocks World – Dubai, the international service provider to the maritime, oil, gas and industrial energy sectors, to develop and progress naturalisation residence services through further communication and collaboration that best serves public interests.
Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri from GDRFA and HAbdulrahman Al Saleh Chairman of Drydocks World signed the partnership agreement and exchanged mementos at a ceremony held in the Drydocks World yard in the presence of their teams.
The Memorandum of Understanding mainly focuses on developing industry-related project services, such as ship repair and conversion handled by Drydocks World, as well as services related to the entry and exit of vessels and their crews’ accommodation.
Drydocks World and GDRFA will exchange knowledge and experiences to upgrade services, collaborating in legal, technical and management areas. Abdulrahman Al Saleh, Chairman of Drydocks World, commented, "Drydocks World and GDRFA share mutual goals and values of enhancing the quality of life for UAE society. This Memorandum of Understanding will strengthen services offered to our employees, clients and the public, delivering enhanced procedures and productivity to meet local and international requirements."
"It’s vital to hold strategic partnerships and focus on cooperation and joint action between the institutions that serve public interest, in line with Dubai's strategy of providing the highest levels of service in all areas," Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri said.
Al Marri said that the signed agreement of Dubai Residency with Drydocks World shows enthusiasm to support the partnership and continue the relationship. The agreement is also aligned to the new economic and social initiatives in the UAE in general, and Dubai in particular.
He added that the signing of the agreement with the leading global provider of marine and maritime services is a continuation of the agreement which was signed in February, 2013.
