Municipalities and Urban Planning Minister Dr. Juma'a Al Ka'abi has stated that the kingdom will go ahead with strategy to consolidate its food security, especially regarding fish production.
Speaking as he visited an aquaculture project in the National Mariculture Centre in Ras Hayan, Dr. Ka'abi said investment in the fishing sector aims to consolidate the kingdom's food security, in line with the plans and programmes of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
He asserted that investment in the field of marine resources enjoys the continuous support of the leadership, noting the Municipalities and Urban Planning Ministry will provide all kinds of support for investors, in accordance with the Economic Vision for Bahrain, 2030.
It is to be noted that the Ministry has signed agreements with two aquaculture companies –Aquatech and Asmak, and they are expected to start producing fish by the end of this year.
