Amman Chamber of commerce(ACC) issued more than 46.000 certificates of origin;the UAE had the lion's share of them.
According to ACC statistical figures issued Monday, the number of certificates of origin issued during the past ten months of 2014 rose to 46019 certificates compared to 43226 during the same period in 2013.
During the past ten months, ACC issued 9939 certificates of origin for exporting goods and merchandise to the UAE, 7052 certificates to Saudi Arabia, and 5294 to Iraq .
According to the figures, goods and merchandise worth JD1.473 billion were exported, during the past ten month, compared to JD1.513 billion for the same period in 2013.
The figures revealed that Iraq accounted for the majority of the Chamber’s exports, during the comparison period, by JD 828 million, followed by the UAE by JD 202 million, then Saudi Arabia by JD 79 million.
ACC’s exports during the past en months were divided into re-exporting foreign products worth JD1.159 billion, agricultural products worth JD170 million, and industrial products worth JD72 million.
The (ACC) is a non-profit organization of public interest that was founded in 1923 according to an initiative made by forty merchants then.
The chamber played an important role in activating and improving trade and economic activity in the Kingdom . The number of the chamber registered members reached 46721 with capitals exceeding 34.7 billion.
