Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Minister Moustafa Madboli announced that eight water and sanitation ventures in Giza and Minya governorates were finalized at a total cost of EGP 782 million.
The minister said that a huge sanitation project was carried out by the Arab Contractors Company in Giza's Atfih town.
The Atfih station - whose capacity is 34.000 cubic meters per day and could be increased to 64.000 cubic meters - cost about 421 million pounds, Madboli said.
The station would serve 550.000 persons in Atfih, Monsh'et Suliman, el Helf el Sharqi, Kafr Halawa and Maniel el Sultan village.
The minister underlined that the National Organization for Potable Water and Sanitary Drainage finalized seven ventures in Minya governorate, including two drinking water projects.
