The United States said Tuesday that chemical weapons had been used in an \"obscene\" and deadly attack on Syrian civilians and warned that President Barack Obama would demand \"accountability.\" \"What we saw in Syria last week should shock the conscience of the world. It defies any code of morality,\" Secretary of State John Kerry said in a televised statement.
