The US warned Russia Thursday it was mulling fresh sanctions over the fighting in Ukraine as it welcomed a move by the EU to broaden its existing measures imposed on Moscow.
The agreement by EU foreign ministers to expand existing EU sanctions "is just a further sign that the actions of the last several days and weeks are absolutely unacceptable and that there will be new consequences put in place," State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters, referring to Russian actions in stirring the fighting in eastern Ukraine.
