US ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power on Thursday accused Russia of holding the UN Security Council \"hostage\" over the Syria chemical weapons crisis. Power told reporters the Syrian government should not be allowed to act with impunity because it has Russian \"patronage\" blocking action by the Security Council over the suspected use of chemical weapons in the conflict.
