The UN Security Council on Wednesday added Libya's Ansar al-Sharia to its terror list over the Islamist group's ties to Al-Qaeda, diplomats said.
An arms embargo, assets freeze and global travel ban targeting the extremists went into force at the request of Britain, France and the United States.
