Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday accused Kiev of ordering a major new offensive against Russian-speaking rebels in eastern Ukraine that claimed dozens of lives over the past few days.
"Kiev authorities have given an official order to begin large-scale combat operations" along almost the entire frontline with the pro-Russian separatists, Putin said in a meeting with his security council, pointing to the use of what he said was artillery and aviation.
