More than one million people rallied against terrorism in cities and towns outside Paris on Sunday, according to an AFP tally of official tolls from around the country.
In the capital itself, one organiser estimated that as many as 1.5 million people were crammed in the centre of Paris for a historic march held after a three-day jihadist carnage left 17 people dead.
