German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande touched down in Kiev on Thursday with a new peace plan to stop an upsurge in fighting in east Ukraine.
"They landed, they're going directly to the presidency," a Ukrainian government source told AFP ahead of the leaders' meeting with President Petro Poroshenko.
