A Frenchman was among the nine people killed when gunman stormed a hotel in the Libyan capital Tripoli on Tuesday in an attack claimed by the Islamic State group, the government said.
The French foreign ministry said in a statement that "France condemns the attack carried out today at the Corinthia hotel in Tripoli which caused the deaths of nine people, including a Frenchman."
