Police fired volleys of tear gas Monday to disperse protesters in the US town of Ferguson after a grand jury declined to indict a white police officer for killing an unarmed black teen.
An AFP correspondent at the scene said the streets were filled with smoke after police in riot gear fired tear gas to push back crowds throwing rocks and bottles at officers as demonstrators surrounded the town's police station.
