Australia on Wednesday pledged Aus$200 million (US$165 million) to the UN-backed Green Climate Fund to mitigate the impact of global warming on poor nations.
"All countries should take practical and proportionate steps to take action on climate change while safeguarding economic growth," said Prime Minister Tony Abbott, adding that the money would come over four years.
