The Supreme Committee of the 46th UAE National Day Anniversary celebrations, chaired by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, has adopted the official logo of this year’s celebrations and decided to circulate it as the official logo of all the activities in different emirates of the nation.
The Supreme Committee also decided that the celebrations will start on 29th November and end on 5th December, inside the UAE and in its embassies around the world.
During committee meeting at the Etihad Museum in Dubai on Monday, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, stressed that the logo, to be used in the celebrations and related activities, will be circulated to all media outlets, ministries and local and federal authorities during the coming days, as well as to the UAE’s embassies and consulates abroad and their scientific and cultural commissions, as the symbol of the official and community celebrations.
He highlighted that the logo was selected according to the consensus of members of the Supreme Committee organising the UAE National Day celebrations during its first meeting, which agreed to make several changes for its 46th edition to strengthen this logo in the hearts of the public, as the symbol of the "Union Spirit" that carries the image of the nation’s founders.
The minister stressed that the Committee decided to hold its first meeting in the Etihad Museum, a national cultural monument that includes the largest collection of national and historical information, documents, images and heritage items about the history of the Union.
Sheikh Nahyan sees the UAE National Day celebrations as a good opportunity for expression and participation by the sons and daughters of the nation and the residents of its land, to show their love to the nation, their loyalty and expression of pride for the UAE, and their pride for its past and present achievements in the advancement and growth of the precious UAE, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the support of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and their brothers, the Members of the Supreme Council, Their Highnesses the Rulers of Emirates.
During the meeting, Sheikh Nahyan highlighted the importance of complete co-ordination of all the celebration’s events and activities in terms of timing and placement while specifying public locations for the events, adding that the celebrations should be spread out all over the country so every individual can participate.
He stressed the importance for all celebrations to present an appropriate image for UAE National Day, which is the most important occasion in the UAE’s history since its establishment in terms of its considerable size and the participation of all citizens and residents, establishing the concept of belonging. He also stressed the importance of focussing on celebrating the Martyrs Day, for its stature and importance to everyone.
The meeting was attended by Afra Al Saberi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development; Mansour Al Mansouri, Director-General of the National Media Council; Juma Ali Al Rumaithi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs for Ceremonies Sector; Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, General Inspector of the Ministry of Interior, and Mubarak Al Shamsi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau.
Among others also present were Hamdan Karam Al Kaabi, Director-General of the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority; Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, General Manager of Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD); Essam Mohammed Khalifa, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, and Rashid Suwaidan Al Khateri, Director of the Protocol Department in Ras al-Khaimah.
