Shop Bahrain Festival 2018 launched

The fourth edition of Bahrain’s largest shopping festival was today given the go-ahead.
Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed bin Rashid Alzayani inaugurated the thirty-day Shop Bahrain at Bahrain Bay in Manama.
Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) Chief Executive Officer Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al-Khalifa attended the opening ceremony, in the presence of BTEA officials, festival partners, journalists and social media savvies.
The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) is organizing the shopping festival in cooperation with Labour Fund (Tamkeen), VIVA Bahrain, Youssef Khalil Almoayyed and Sons Group and the national carrier, Gulf Air.
The minister stressed the importance of the 30-day eventful shopping extravaganza which on three key sectors – tourism, retail sector and restaurants – as part of efforts to showcase Bahrain as welcoming destination in the region.
Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) Chief Executive Officer Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al-Khalifa said that the festival represents a core component of the BTEA strategy to develop the tourism sector and contribute to achieving the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
“ShopBahrain, the biggest event of its kind in Bahrain, is part of BTEA strategy to revitalize the tourism sector, support the national sustainable development, and consolidate Bahrain’s standing the region and spur growth”, he said.
