Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association and Honourary President of the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation expressed his appreciation to Palace Projects for joining the sponsors of the third edition of Khalid Bin Hamad Theatres Festival For National Clubs, Youth Centres and People With Disability as the bronze sponsor.

The festival is organised for the third consecutive year by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa under the patronage of HH. It began on Wednesday and will continue to October 21 on the stage of Muharraq Model Youth Centre.

The festival comes within Khalid Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa Initiatives to support the youth of the Kingdom of Bahrain and engage them with different events and activities.

This year’s edition is themed #Let’s_Plant_A_Smile and aims at empowering the youth in the fields of cultural and humanitarian works.

12 plays will be performed by local youth centres and clubs during the 18 day long festival, which will also include three additional shows that will be held on the sidelines of the main shows.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa welcomed the initiative of Palace Projects to join the sponsors of the festival as the bronze sponsor, adding that the strategies of the company reflect its concern on supporting the youth and sports movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

On his part, Waleed Al-Raees, CEO of Palace Projects said that the company is proud to sponsor the festival and that it appreciates the support of HH to the different youth and sports events and activities in the Kingdom.

He explained that the sponsorship comes within the responsibilities of the company to achieve community partnership by supporting youth, sports, cultural and social programmes in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The first play in the festival will be performed at 7:30PM on Thursday by Tubli Cultural and Sports Club. The play is titled “We Haven’t Started” and is directed by Jassim Tallaq. The play is expected to be demonstrate an interesting content, as it is the opening show in the festival.

On their part, Budaiya Cultural and Sports Club will perform a play titled “Halat” in the festival. It is directed by Ishaq Abdulla and introduces a number of new Bahraini talents in the fields of theatres and acting.

Ishaq Abdulla thanked the initiatives of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and efforts to develop the Bahraini youth in different fields that include sports, culture and humanitarian work.

He also thanked the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa for granting the youth of Bahraini the opportunity to highlight their talents and skills on stage.
