 Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, has praised the UAE’s exceptional participation in the EXPO 2017 Astana, through its pavilion that highlighted the country’s unprecedented advancement in all areas, as well as its efforts in sustainable energy and green renewable energy, which will represent 50 percent of its energy production by 2050.

During his visit to the UAE pavilion at the Expo, which was held under the theme, "Energy of the Future," and whose activities will conclude on 10th September, Al Mazrouei stated that the pavilion highlighted many of the country’s important development projects in the field of renewable energy, which are offered by the UAE to other countries lacking adequate energy supplies.

During his visit, on the sidelines of his participation in the "KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum" in Astana, he explained that the UAE has a long-term vision of diversifying its energy production, which is part of the comprehensive development plans of the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which aims to provide the country with a prosperous and developed future.

He also praised the participation of the Takatuf volunteers in the UAE pavilion and their role in welcoming visitors and introducing them to the UAE’s culture, customs and civilised image. He also praised the key role of the Emirati youth in the success of the UAE’s participation in this international event, through presenting their country’s civilised image while highlighting its overall accomplishments to other countries from around the world.

He added that the Republic of Kazakhstan has succeeded in hosting this international event through its exceptional organisation, its warm welcome and the presence of a pavilion with the largest spherical glass building in the world, which includes eight floors that display exhibits on various types of energy and the history and future of Kazakhstan.

Al Mazrouei participated, as a speaker, in the KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum on the topic of energy, which highlighted the ministry’s expertise in planning the "UAE Energy Strategy for 2050," and the necessity of diversifying energy production and focussing on clean and green energy.
