HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association and Honorary President of the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation has expressed his appreciation to the partners and sponsors of the third edition of Khalid Bin Hamad Theatres Festival for National Clubs, Youth Centres and People with Disability.
The festival is organised on October 4 to 21 at Muharraq Model Youth Centre by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa under by the patronage of HH.
The 18 day long festival comes within Khalid Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa Initiatives to support the youth of the Kingdom of Bahrain and engage them with different social, cultural and sports events and activities.
It is held this year under the theme #Let’s_Plant_A_Smile and aims at empowering the youth in the fields of cultural and humanitarian works.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa highlighted that having 14 sponsors supporting the festival reflects the Bahraini establishments’ concern about supporting youth activities in all fields.
HH said that the efforts of the officials in the sponsoring establishments are appreciated, especially that they seek contributing to the success of events and activities that are dedicated to the youth of the Kingdom of Bahrain and providing them with the perfect atmosphere to develop their talents and skills.
The partners and sponsors include the strategic partner Tamkeen, telecommunications partner Batelco, golden sponsor Economic Development Board, beverages partner Coca Cola, silver sponsors Bapco and Al-Hawaj and bronze sponsors Alba, Wahooo, Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group, Palace Projects, Majestic Cars Showroom, Gulf University and Adhari Park and hospitality partner Tariq Pastries.
There are 12 teams participating in this year’s edition of the festival that include Tubli Club, Galali Club, Zallaq Youth Centre, Karzakkan Youth Centre, Hamad Town Youth Centre, Al-Hala Club, Al-Jasra Youth Centre, Budaiya Club, Buhair Youth Centre, Shakhoora Youth Centre, Barbar Club and the National Foundation for the Services of People With Disabilities. The teams announced that they are preparing their final rehearsals for the festival.
Karzakkan Youth Centre plans to present a show titled “Masks Fall Off” during the days of the festival. The play represents the never-ending battle between money and personalities, demonstrating it in a modern and innovative method. The crew will include director Isa Khalifa, assistant directors Waleed Mohammed and Mohammed Shaheen and other Bahraini talents.
On the other hand, the mascot of the festival “Basma” has been present in various public places in the Kingdom to promote the festival. Basma is the creation of Bahraini Cartoonist Turki Rashi and will be present throughout the days of the festival.
