A delegation from the Good Word Society

A delegation from the Good Word Society met with Bahrain Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa and a number of Arab League officials. They discussed preparations for the Arab League’s hosting of the distribution ceremony of the seventh edition of Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award from September 13 to 15 in conjunction with the Arab Volunteer Day.

The Bahraini ambassador described the award as an added value to promote noble humanitarian values in the Arab societies, considering the decision of the Arab League to host it a tribute for Bahrain’s pioneering role in backing voluntary work. He also hailed the efforts of the Good Word Society to boost the culture of voluntary work being an integral part of the Gulf and Arabian community.

The delegation lauded the efforts of the Bahraini ambassador in highlighting the value of the award within the biggest regional organisation in the Arab world.

Head of the delegation Yaqoob Bu Haza’a said the award had contributed to boosting the kingdom’s image in the field of voluntary work thanks to concerted efforts of the Bahraini people in Bahrain and beyond. He also hailed the role of the Bahraini diplomacy in conveying the true image of the philanthropic Bahraini people.

The Good Word Society delegation also met with Arab League Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Social Affairs Sector Ambassador Dr. Badereddine Al Alali and Assistant Seceratry General and Head of the Arab and National Security Affairs Sector Ambassador Khalil Al Thawadi and reviewed with them the history Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Work and the ongoing preparations for its new edition.
