 Preparations are underway for the third edition of Khalid bin Hamad Youth Theatre Award Festival for National Clubs, Youth Centers and People with Disabilities.

An introductory symposium was held at Abdulrahman Kanoo Cultural Centre on Tuesday as part of the preparations for the festival.
The seminar, titled “Youth Theateres in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Reality, Vision and Horizon”, hosted a number of cultural and intellectual personalities in Bahrain such as Yousif Al-Hamdan and Abdullah Suwayyed.
Al-Hamdan praised the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association and Honourary President of the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation to embrace and empower local talents by organising events that allows them to excel and improve their abilities.
Al-Hamdan discussed with the attendees the current conditions of local theatres and acting clubs, and the means to support them and develop their performances.
The festival is successfully organised for the third consecutive year under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and within the initiatives of His Highness.
It will be held next October at the Muharraq Model Youth Centre, with large and active youth participation from various leaders and representatives of national clubs, youth centers and people with disabilities.
The organising committee had announced earlier that this year’s edition will be held under the slogan #Let’s_Plant_A_Smile and will introduce several workshops and additional activities.
Jamal Al Ghailan, the Director of the Festival, said the organising committee holds such introductory workshops as part of the preparations for the festival, adding that the next activities will be presented by Actor Jama’an Al Rowaiee and Siddiqa Alansari onAugust 20-30 at the Muharraq Model Youth Centre. He called upon the participants in the festival to attend and benefit from the topics discussed in the workshops.
