President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa received today newly-appointed Jordanian Ambassador to Bahrain Rami Saleh Werikat. She congratulated him on his appointment and discussed with him ways of boosting cultural cooperation between both countries.
Shaikha Mai briefed the ambassador on the ongoing preparations to welcome the year 2018 in which Muharraq will be “Capital of Islamic Culture”. She underlined solid relations between Bahrain and Jordan, pointing out cultural cooperation and Bahrain’s hosting of Jordan as guest of honour in the previous edition of Bahrain International Book Fair.
The Jordanian ambassador thanked Shaikha Mai for the meeting, hailing BACA’s efforts to enrich the cultural momentum in Bahrain and beyond. He also expressed readiness to cooperate with the authority to achieve the aspirations of the two friendly countries and project the Arab civilisational achievements around the world
