Baghdad – Najlaa El Taee
Chairman of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Hakem Al Zamili declared his refusal to any Arabian, Islamic or eastern intervention in Iraq, saying that, the United States forces are trying very hard to participate in the ground operations that aim to liberate Anah, Rwah and Al Qaem in Anbar governorate, and that the Iraqi forces are more than capable of conducting these operations without their intervention.
He said during an interview with “Arab Today” that, sources said the US forces are increasing in Iraq, with at least 7 thousand marine soldiers, and this increase entered Anbar and Ninohy by air and stationed there. He added that, everything is being monitored and in case they insisted on a long-term military presence in Iraq, there will be means to pressure the Iraqi government and the international community to stop this intervention.
Al Zamili believes that, Trump decision to increase the US forces in the military bases in west and north of Iraq is a return to the American occupation, and the parliament and the government will not allow that, especially their participation in liberating Anbar.
He confirmed that, the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee’s intention is to issue a parliamentary decision to stop any US forces in participation in Anbar ground operations, adding that that Iraq didn’t ask any country to send its forces and the participation from the International Coalition was limited to air support, logistics and training and any other attempt is refused.
He said there are military bases belong to “Daesh” in Anbar desert targeting borders guards, and the International Coalition air defense has a full knowledge of these bases but, it refuses to strike them. These bases are distributed in the areas of Wadi Houran and Wadi al-Qudh with a full set of extremists and ammunition that target border guards and federal police forces in the Anbar areas near these bases.
