Qatar's Nasser Al Attiyah won Tuesday super special stage of the Qatar Cross-Country Rally, the fourth round of FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup, which took place at Losail.
The rally is organized by Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation along with the local competition Baja. A total of 25 cars are taking part in the Qatar Cross-Country Rally. The local competition sees a total of 10 cars taking part.
Al Attiyah along with his Toyota Hilux after finishing the 4.86 Kilometer track 7.9 seconds faster than his closest competitor Yazeed Al Rajhi. Third place went to South Africa's Leeroy Poulter, who finished 9.7 seconds behind Al Attiyah.
Among the top 10 were Qatar's Mohammed Abo Eissa, who finished in seventh place after finishing the race in 4:47:10 minutes. UAE's Khalid Al Qassimi finished the race in ninth place. No other GCC or Arab drivers finished in the top 10.
As for the T2 competition, a fierce race between Qatar's Adel Hussein and Saudi Arabia's Yasser bin Saiedan saw the former clinch victor after finishing the race 5.6 seconds faster that his Saudi competitor. UAE's Mansour Al Helai Finished third in the race, just one second behind Saiedan.
In the local competition, Qatar National Baja, Frenchman Claude Fournier came top of the T3 standings and took a valuable lead ahead of the other nine competitors in the race.
The racing course is a purpose-built track that featured jumps and water splashes and sections of Losail’s motocross course, the stage was also used to determine the all-important starting order for the first of four desert selective sections on Wednesday
