Blake Griffin notched a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds Sunday and the Los Angeles Clippers escaped with a 93-88 win over Portland. Leading by as many as 17 in the final quarter, the Clippers let Portland pull to within two points on LaMarcus Aldridge\'s 6-footer to make it 90-88 with 29 seconds left. But Chris Paul responded with a driving layup 20 seconds later and Mo Williams iced it with a free throw for Los Angeles, which won its first home game of the young season. Caron Butler added 19 points, and Paul finished with 17 and seven assists in the victory. Jamal Crawford pumped in 23 points off the bench, and Aldridge contributed 19 and nine rebounds for the Trail Blazers, who suffered their first loss after opening the season with three straight wins.
