American Dwight Phillips retained his long jump title at the world championships on Friday. The 33-year-old, who also won world titles in 2003 and 2005 and bronze in 2007, jumped a season's best of 8.45 metres, with Australian Mitchell Watt taking silver (8.33m) and Zimbabwe's Ngonidzashe Makusha claiming bronze (8.29).
