Cairo - Arab Today
The Egyptian Competition Authority (ECA) referred the head of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to the public prosecution over violations of laws regulating football championships broadcast.
The CAF head - the only one in charge of granting the rights of broadcasting of CAP championships - is accused of influence peddling, the ECA said in a statement on Wednesday.
The CAF head granted the broadcasting rights to SPORTFIVE, an agency of Lagardère Unlimited, for 12 years as of 2017, without allowing a fair competition among other companies seeking to win the broadcast rights.
