With 90 players, UAE are one of the strongest teams participating and they found success with gold medals for Ibrahim Al Hosani (in 69kg), Khalfan Belhol (under 85kg), Zayed Al Kaabi (under 94kg) and Obaid Al Nuaimi (under 56kg).
The UAE also won silver through Saud Al Hammadi (under 85 kg), Abdullah Al Beloushi (69-kg), Zayed Al Mansouri (62kg), Saeed Al Haj (77kg) and Mubarak Amr (above 94kg). Saeed Al Mazruwaei won a bronze in the 62kg category.
The competition was tough as the contests was held under the new system of "no straight jacket", which has been applied for the first time in the Asia beach championship with bout taking only four minutes instead of six.
"Our boys have always been making similar achievements and stepping up the podium in different events, and among the many gains of participation in this championship is qualifying for the World Beach Games Championship in San Diego", said Mohammed Salem AL Dhahiri, vice president of the UAE Jiu Jitsu Association.
