The competitions of the Junior Open Chess Championship organised by the Qatar Chess Association (QCA) will get underway at the Chess Training Centre on Thursday. The three-day tournament brings together more than 150 players from Qatari, Arab and foreign nationalities whose ages ranged from 6 – 14 years. In a pre-event press release on Wednesday, Mr. Mohammed Al Mudaihiki, the QCA Secretary General revealed that the tournament comes in the light of the QCA strategy to discover new talented players and to increase the game pioneers in Qatar.
