'Royal' (Red) and 'Al Wataniya' (Green) match up during the first day's match.

Defending champions Royal and Al Watania shared honours in a 1-1 draw on the opening night of the second Sharjah Ramadan Football Championship (SRFC) that kicked-off on Tuesday at the Sharjah Sports Clubindoor stadium.
Ahmed Mohammed put Al Watania ahead in the first half but the lead was wiped out when Nofal Al Ta'ee scored after a counter-attack.
During the opening night, bike stunts by Spanish Flatland BMX champion and Red Bull athlete Viki Gómez and a light and sound show by French team entertained the fans.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi said: "One of our primary goals is to enhance the spirit of youth in young Emiratis and let them express themselves in ways that turn their aspirations and ambitions into a reality. In supporting these sporting events, we can play a significant part in encouraging that."


The winner will get Dhs 200,000, the runner-up will be awarded Dhs 100,000 and third-
place will earn Dhs 50,000.
There will also be daily prizes for spectators over the two weeks of the championship
including Samsung Galaxy S7 and iPhone 7, as well as flight tickets.
