Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) President Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa confirmed that the National Day Endurance Race has strong interest and strong reviews from various local stables and riders who are dedicated annually to participate effectively in this race.
He referred to the keenness of BREEF on the preparations and creation of all equipment for the race, stressing that the directives of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and his follow-up stimulate and encourage everyone to continue to work hard in all the committees of the event.
Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid pointed out that expectations indicate a strong competition with a great number of participants in the race, which is considered as one of the most important and powerful of the season.
Meanwhile, BREEF continues their preparations for the start of the National Day Endurance Race for a total distance of 120km and the international qualifying race for a distance of 80km, which will be held Saturday at the Bahrain International Endurance Village.
The National Day Endurance Race is the third of the season organised by BREEF, after the qualifying race and the opening season races, which saw a large participation by various local stables and riders.
The National Day Endurance Race will start on Saturday at 7am, with the stages being, as follows: the first stage (red colour) for a distance of 30km, the second stage (blue colour) for a distance of 30km, the third stage (green colour) for a distance of 24km, the fourth stage (yellow colour) for a distance of 20km and the fifth stage (white colour) for a distance of 16km.
The veterinary examination will be held today at 3pm until 4.30pm at the Bahrain International Endurance Village, where the BREEF urged all the participating stables to come to the race site to carry out the procedures and examine the horses before the start of the race.
BREEF Media Committee and Public Relations Head Tawfiq Al Salehi explained that the National Day Endurance Race will be broadcast live on Bahrain TV Sports Channel for the fifth stage of the race, pointing out that this broadcasting is the first of the endurance season.
