DPS, Dubai defeated Our Own High School, Al Warqa's by 18 runs to clinch the 14th Sundeep Batavia Memorial Inter School Cricket tournament at the DPS ground in Sharjah.
DPS scored 132 runs in 15 overs and bowled out Our Own HS for 114 runs. For DPS Aayan Verma not out with 69 runs from 44 balls and Hriday Savnani bagged four wickets for just nine runs.
In the basketball final, hosts DPS Sharjah regained the boys title after the gap of four years by defeating the arch rivals Indian High School, Dubai 62-55.
The girls title was won by visiting Chettinad Vidhyashram from Chennai, India, for a third year in a row. The experienced Chennai team consisting of six Tamil Nadu state junior team players dominated the game with their tough defense and accurate shooting. For the visitors, Nikita Reddy top scored with 14 points while Amrusha scored 11 points. For DPS Lael Ann Balu top scored with 11 points.
In the table tennis, Indian High School, Dubai dominated the boys section by winning, both, the U-16 and U-18 years categories. DPS Sharjah won the Girls U-18 category for the third consecutive year and Our Own English High School Sharjah won the Girls U-16 years category.
